Climate Emergency Campaign 2023 - SEEAP

Every year, many natural disasters happen in Asia Pacific. The problem is that man-made disasters exacerbate natural disasters. Counting fatalities and the economic losses, among the top ten countries affected, six are in Asia Pacific: Myanmar, Philippines, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam. In multiple countries where MSF works around the world, our medical humanitarian teams are already responding to situations that are linked to or aggravated by climate and environmental change.

This is a whole-of-society concern. It is crucial for MSF to sound the alarm for organisations like us, governments, institutions, and the public to each own our responsibilities and vulnerabilities in this climate emergency. We need governments and those who are most responsible to also help address this today, to help those who are most vulnerable. And we need to work together, in solidarity with all, for the health of all.
