In West Mosul, fighting between Iraqi government forces are Islamic State militants is ongoing. Some 100 000 people are trapped in an area of just a few square kilometers, in the old town. Two families, who recently escaped west Mosul, told our project coordinator in East Mosul, about the challenges of surviving under siege. In west Mosul, the electricity has been cut off as well as the water supply. And food is scarce and very expensive. A written article by the OCP project coordinator in Al Taheel will be shared (FR, ENG & AR), together with 5 short testimony videos of two families who managed to escape West Mosul, in FR, ENG & AR too (to complete the testimony or to use on social media)
