MSF started its activities in Bardarash Camp and at Sahela’s reception site in October 2019. Since October 24, MSF medical teams were conducted 3,207 consultations including 1,031 for children under 5 years old. Since the beginning of the clashes in NES, more than 17 000 people crossed the border.

As numbers declined at the reception point, along with consultations for only mild cases, MSF mobile clinic activities were put on standby on 7th November. If there is a significant increase in need then we stand ready to respond.

However, we keep running medical activities in Bardarash camp camp to assist the refugees coming from North East Syria. The number of consultations have stabilised between 120 & 180 consultations per day. Main morbidity for both children & adults remain respiratory infections. Watery diarrhoea remains a problem mainly for children. The third main cause of consultations among adults are joint and muscle pains. Accidental traumas have been increasing but so far we have not seen any major trauma. Small wounds have been sutured at the clinic & some fractures referred to the PHCC in Bardarash town for x-ray.

MH team has been continuously providing care at registration area & tent to tent. More than 800 families have been reached and Psychological First Aid (PFA) has been provided to more than 1,200 people. Moreover, the teams conducted in average 8 Individual sessions per day for people showing mild and severe mental health problems.
