For 13 years, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) collaborated with Tajikistan's Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population (MoHSPP) to combat tuberculosis (TB) in Dushanbe.

The project enhanced TB detection, treatment, and support, especially for children, their families, and incarcerated individuals. Through advanced diagnostics and home-based care, MSF empowered patients and engaged the community in TB control.

MSF achieved significant milestones, introducing better diagnostic tools, new medicines like bedaquiline and delamanid, and Family Direct Observation Therapy for home treatment. MSF also addressed kala-azar and domestic violence in Dushanbe, linking survivors to local support organizations.

Despite progress, challenges remain, such as ensuring access to care, combating stigma, and strengthening healthcare.

As MSF concludes its project in Dushanbe, it leaves a legacy of impactful work in TB and other diseases. MSF remains committed to supporting TB control efforts in Tajikistan and globally.
