Cholera epidemic in the Far North region

For more than a year, Cameroon has experienced several waves of cholera, during this period nine of the country's ten regions have been affected. In January 2023, four of the affected regions were still active: the Centre, the Littoral, the West and the Far North of the country. While the epidemic began in the southwest region, the month of October 2022 marked its resurgence in the far north where six districts were affected, including the towns of Mora and Kolofata.

In the same region, the Minawao refugee camp was particularly affected. As of December 27, 2022, 15085 cases of cholera have been reported in the country.
