Mozambique: MSF reinforces medical response in Mueda as thousands are displaced again in Cabo Delgado

Thousands of people have fled renewed violence in Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, seeking safety in Mueda district, where Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has reinforced its medical and mental health response. Since early October, MSF teams have been supporting displaced families and host communities in the Eduardo Mondlane, Nandimba and Lianda camps. MSF teams are monitoring health conditions, promoting hygiene, ensuring patient referrals to the nearest health facilities and offering psychosocial support to people coping with repeated displacement. Living conditions remain precarious, with limited access to clean water and sanitation and the rainy season looming large. For many families, this is not the first time they have fled; some walked long distances to return to the same camps they once left behind.
