Sami Keshko (57), lost his son in an Israeli airstrike that destroyed their six-story home in Zaytoun. Severely injured himself, he spent over two months in Mamadani Hospital and was later forced to evacuate to a tent in Tal El Hawa. Despite having a medical evacuation issued, he and his son, who is a cancer patient, continue to wait for urgent treatment, facing ongoing threats and instability.

This package brings together six testimonies from patients inside Nasser Hospital who are awaiting medical evacuation from Gaza, three mothers speaking about their children’s critical conditions and three adults in need of lifesaving treatment abroad. Documenting the struggle of patients who can no longer access essential medical care due to the collapse of Gaza’s health system due to the Genocide.

More than 18,500 people, including thousands of children, are registered for evacuation; many others remain uncounted because they cannot reach health facilities. According to Ministry of Health (MOH) records, 1,092 patients died while awaiting medical evacuation between July 2024 and November 28, 2025. However, this figure is likely underreported, as it is based solely on reported deaths.

These testimonies highlight the urgent need for a permanent medical evacuation mechanism, and unhindered humanitarian access so patients can receive the care they need—and eventually return home safely.
