Nothing has entered Gaza, no commercial [trucks] or humanitarian aid has entered Gaza since 2 March.

Since 2 March, the siege of Gaza by the Israeli army has exhausted stocks of food, fuel and medicines.
Le siège total de Gaza par l’armée israélienne depuis le 2 mars a épuisé les stocks de nourriture, de carburant et de médicaments.


There is no food left, there is very little fuel that allows us to produce clean and unsalted water to distribute to the population.

Il n'y a plus de nourriture, il y a très peu de carburant pour produire de l'eau propre et non salée afin de la distribuer.

We have very few weeks left of drugs and medication to distribute and to provide health services.
Il nous reste des médicaments pour seulement quelques semaines.

The MUAC – it's the brachial [mid-upper arm] measurement – it's in the red zone. That means he's in severe acute malnutrition.
Le MUAC, c'est-à-dire le périmètre brachial, est dans la zone rouge, ce qui signifie qu'il souffre de malnutrition aiguë sévère.

Almost two million people were already relying on humanitarian aid for food before 2 March and now it's probably more because it's not affordable. The people are having only one meal per day, the parents are favouring the children, but you can see that the malnutrition rates are increasing very quickly
Près de 2 millions de personnes dépendaient déjà de l'aide humanitaire pour se nourrir avant le 2 mars, c’est probablement beaucoup plus aujourd’hui car tout est hors de prix. Les gens ne font qu'un seul repas par jour, les parents privilégient les enfants, mais on peut voir que les taux de malnutrition augmentent très rapidement.

The new IPC results [rating the severity of food insecurity] were released and it shows that 1.5 million of the population is in an emergency situation at the moment,
Les nouveaux résultats de l'IPC [Cadre intégré de classification de la sécurité alimentaire] ont été publiés et montrent que 1,5 million de personnes se trouvent actuellement dans une situation d'urgence,

and 22 per cent of them are in a catastrophic situation. So the vast majority of the population right now is really suffering from food insecurity.

People are relying on what they find to be able to cook. The waste that you can find on the street, some cardboard boxes, pallet wood, and any kind of thing that they can burn, often plastic as well, which is very dangerous, as well for them and for the children.

Les gens font avec ce qu'ils trouvent pour pouvoir cuisiner. Les déchets que l'on trouve dans la rue, des cartons, du bois de palette, et tout ce qu'ils peuvent brûler, souvent du plastique, ce qui est très dangereux pour eux et pour les enfants.


Most of the agricultural lands have been destroyed and can’t be accessed. There's no meat, there's no protein, there's no bread anymore because the flour has completely disappeared from the market today. So it's really some very little canned food that is available and then collecting whatever you can find, like some grass and some stuff.

La plupart des terres agricoles ont été détruites et ne sont plus accessibles. Il y a donc très peu de légumes et il n'y a pas de viande, pas de protéines, pas de pain parce que la farine a complètement disparu des marchés. Ce sont seulement quelques conserves et tout ce qui peut être ramassé, comme des herbes et d’autres choses.

Now there's nothing left in Gaza available. The WFP [World Food Programme] and the other organisations have no stock left. There are a few takiyas [community kitchens] that are still operating, delivering a little bit of rice for some of the population, but every day some of them are closing and it's very difficult for the population to find any food left in Gaza.
Aujourd'hui, il n'y a plus rien de disponible à Gaza. Le PAM [Programme alimentaire mondial] et les autres organisations n'ont plus de stock. Quelques takiyas [cuisines communautaires] fonctionnent encore et fournissent un peu de riz à une partie de la population, mais chaque jour, plusieurs d'entre elles ferment, et il est très difficile pour la population de trouver de la nourriture à Gaza.

In this picture, you can see a child who was severely burnt and was treated in Nasser hospital. You can see that she has a lot of scars resulting from the shelling that happened on her tent in Al-Mawasi. For burns patients, you have special meals that are provided, especially with proteins.

On peut voir qu’elle a beaucoup de cicatrices à cause du bombardement de sa tente à Al-Mawasi. Pour les patients souffrant de brûlures, des repas spéciaux sont fournis, en particulier des protéines.

You need to create more tissue to heal, to scar. Today, with the lack of food, we can see that these patients are staying [in hospital] much longer because they don’t heal.
Il faut créer plus de tissu pour guérir, pour cicatriser. Aujourd'hui, avec le manque de nourriture, ces patients restent beaucoup plus longtemps à l’hôpital parce qu'ils ne guérissent pas.

There is no electricity in Gaza.
Il n’y a pas d'électricité à Gaza.

So you need the fuel, the generator, to be able to run your operating theatre, to run your laboratory tests, but also to produce clean water.
On a donc besoin de carburant, d'un générateur, pour faire fonctionner le bloc opératoire, réaliser les tests de laboratoire, mais aussi pour produire de l'eau propre.

Eighty per cent of the water production has been destroyed in Gaza, the people are relying on the desalination plants that are still existing.
80 % de la production d'eau a été détruite à Gaza, et les Gazaouis dépendent des usines de dessalement qui existent encore.

We have trucks to distribute the water to the people, so everybody has to come every single day to collect water with jerrycans to bring back home. Today the average amount of water that the people are receiving individually is less than five litres per person.

Nous avons des camions pour distribuer l'eau, tout le monde doit venir chaque jour chercher de l'eau avec des jerrycans pour la ramener à la maison. Aujourd'hui, la quantité moyenne d'eau est inférieure à 5 litres par personne.
