Helping care reach people in daraya after years of war

After years of conflict and displacement, communities in Daraya began returning to a city heavily affected by destruction and severe shortages of essential services. In response, MSF acted swiftly to restore primary healthcare and emergency services at Daraya primary healthcare center, supporting both local residents and surrounding communities. Over eight months, services were expanded to include sexual and reproductive health, mental health care, and referrals for specialized treatment, while strengthening infection prevention and control and water, sanitation, and hygiene standards. These efforts helped re-establish safe, accessible, and dignified healthcare at a critical moment.
