The Rohingya crisis enters in it’s 9th years of protracted displacement, with around 1.2 million people remaining confined in overcrowded camps in Cox’sBazar. While Global priorities and declining public attention have pushed the Rohingya crisis further from the spotlight, our team continues to witness the profound physical and mental health toll that prolonged containments take on our patients. Amidst this, we are continuing to provide essential healthcare services to the Rohingya community since scaled up emergency response began in 2017. Through this communication initiative we are sharing an Op-Ed to highlight the conditions of the camps and a video content for social media to highlight how refugee youth navigating years of containment while holding on to hope for the future; mothers raising children born into displacement; and community member witnessing first-hand a world that risks forgetting the Rohingya crisis.
