In a daily life saturated with news and images, it is challenging to address the question of fundamental rights, especially access to healthcare and the discrepancy between living conditions in different parts of the world. Complementary to emergency medical care, bearing witness is a key component of MSF’s
mission. But how can we best create space to question and learn more about events and situations that are too often out of the media spotlight and fall victim to general indifference?

Collaborating with a world-renowned digital artist whose collages depict different
realities - sometimes opposed, sometimes universal - is one solution. The association
between MSF and Uğur Gallenkuş is therefore meaningful in that it both conveys humanitarian messages and highlights the need to think and look beyond our usual environment, in different ways.

This exhibition presents a selection of 30 collages by Uğur Gallenkuş, specially using original pictures from old and recent MSF archive.

These side-by-side pictures portray starkly different realities. And, side by side, humanitarian workers, communities living through crises, artists, Geneva residents or visitors passing through the city, all citizens of the world, stand together to see the big picture.
