On 19 June, MSF was forced to suspend medical activities at Isaïe Jeanty Maternity hospital, after the facility was caught in crossfire amid escalating violence in Cité Soleil. As the situation gradually calmed, teams started returning and resuming their work, though access remains difficult on a day-to-day basis for both staff and patients. Meanwhile, MSF continued providing sexual and reproductive healthcare in other parts of Port-au-Prince, including through mobile clinics, where teams collected testimonies from patients who fled the fighting.

Haiti has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the region. In Port-au-Prince, the security crisis has forced the closure of most maternal healthcare facilities, severely restricting access to obstetric care. Insecurity, the cost of healthcare and transportation, stigma, and the risk of sexual violence all create significant barriers to accessing care. MSF has been supporting access to sexual and reproductive health in Port-au-Prince in the Isaïe Jeanty Maternity Hospital and through mobile clinics.
