In 2015, the massive influx of refugees fleeing conflict and persecution brought over one million people to Greece. MSF responded swiftly to this crisis, opening a Day Care Center (DCC) in Athens to address the urgent medical and humanitarian needs of migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, undocumented people, and LGBQTQIA+ regardless of their legal status. Over the following nine years, MSF expanded its services from medical activities to include social and legal support, adapting to the evolving migration landscape and advocating for the rights of vulnerable populations. As MSF closes its Day Care Center on May 30, 2025, it is critical to emphasize that migrants must continue to have access to healthcare.
