MSF operates a mother and child hospital in the northern Jordanian governorate of Irbid, provides high-quality free healthcare services for Syrian refugees as well as Jordanians residing among the local community. In celebration of International Woman’s Day, MSF Communications Team would like to celebrate the women in the humanitarian medical field in Irbid where MSF fills a considerable gap. Not only does the local staff work against the flow of anti-Syrian refugee sentiment perceivable, but also the hospital provides advanced, quality services.

The objective is to increase visibility of the Irbid project and to the sophistication (and humanity) of healthcare towards urban refugees.

A smaller objective is to build on this angle over time, and using the opportunity of International Women’s Day as a marker to begin increased communication activities on the Irbid project, where the focus is maternal health.
