STAFF ADANCED - Uploading to the Media Database Editing your new files, adding Metadata, preparing for Release

*NOTE: You will need to have the additional security level of "_Upload and Edit" before you can add, change or save the file's Metadata information in the "Detail Edit" .

**NOTE: You will need the additional security level of "_Publish" before you can change the Purpose of a file at all. (ie: to release a file or story from "Pending Approval" to "internal" or "Public")

1 - Using the sites Upload Button (Fig.1)

I. Log in to the MDB using your email and password II. Select the Upload button at the top of the page (Fig.1)

2 - Creating a Location for your Story in the MDB (a). Choose to Add to Existing Folder (Fig.2)

I. use the drop down menu to search for a "shoot" (folder) by typing a name or select from the list of previous upload folders (if show). II. Drag and drop your files into the upload window. (Fig.3/ Fig.4) III. Wait for the files to be uploaded and processed. (Fig.5)

IV. When it is complete choose to Edit your uploaded files NOTE: uploaded files are marked Pending – and are not visible to the general public or other staff users until they have been Released*.(Fig.6)

V. Use the Asset Manager area of the MDB to edit the file information and add metadata

or (b). Choose to create a New Folder (Fig.2)

I. Select a Country where your photos or video is from NOTE: No Country and Multiple Countries options are also available.

II. Add a title for your shoot (this will become the folder name) III. Drag and drop your files into the upload window. (Fig.3/ Fig.4) IV. Wait for your files to be uploaded and processed. (Fig.5) V. When complete choose to Edit your uploaded files (uploaded files are marked Pending) (Fig.6)

VI. Use the Asset Manager to edit the file information and add metadata

or (c ). Drage and drop directly in the Asset Management area when viewing a folder (Fig.3)

I. Navigate to the folder you wish to add images to in the Asset management Area

II. Select and drag and drop you images from your computer into the Asset management window which will automatically show the upload bin to drop your images onto. (Fig.4) III. Wait for your images to upload and process and go to Edit to add metadata. (Fig.5/ Fig.6)

3 - Using the Asset Manager area to Edit Files (Fig.7) View your uploaded files or navigate top a folder of files in the Asset management area (Fig.7) I. 'Right-Click' on a single file to open the menu options and select "Detail Edit" (Fig.8) II. In the Detail Edit window enter the METADATA for the file and click "Save" (Fig.9) *, **

III. To BATCH EDIT multiple files at the same time, select the 'tick' in the image corner for each file you wish to edit together. (Fig.10) *, ** IV. 'Right-Click' on one of your selected files to show the menu option, select "Detail Edit" (Fig.11)

V. In the Batch Edit window, Add the information that you want applied to all the selected images, choose how to add this information to the files, and select the 'tick-box' next to each field you want updated. At the end of the list click "Apply Values to Selected Fields" to save. (Fig.12) *, **
