Goyalmara Hospital is an In-patients hospital located at the edge of four Rohingya settlements (Jamtoli, Hakimpara, Bagghona, Chakmarkul) with an overall of 300.000 inhabitants. The hospital serves an average of 70 patients a day and it is specialized in second-level care, with a specific focus on maternal care and paediatrics. The hospital welcomes about 70% of Rohingya and 30% of Bangladeshi who live near the camps and most of the patients are referred by other first level health posts. Main diseases include lower or upper respiratory infections including pneumonia, issues related to neonatology including sepsis (mainly determined by very poor hygienically conditions) and premature births with complications. There are also many widespread infections amongst children due to lack of care and negligence of the wounds that can degenerate into abscesses which in serious cases require surgery.
