Aden trauma hospital

MSF trauma hospital opened in Aden in 2012. In 2015, following the escalation of fighting between Ansar Allah troops and coalition-backed forces, the hospital mainly treated war-wounded patients, being almost the only surgical hospital functioning in Aden city at that time. In 2017, with a relatively calm situation, internal fixation activity was implemented in order to improve the hospital’s quality of care. Infection prevention control was improved and an ATB stewardship program was implemented the same year, in order to treat post-surgery complicated cases on the mid/long-term perspective. Complex cases or cases requiring specific medical/surgical care from MSF hospital in Mocha are frequently referred to Aden hospital.
