Kasai UNFRAMED (Q.Bruno)

Starting in August 2016, local tensions deteriorated into a large scale violence in the region of Kasai in the Democratic Republic of Congo. At the peak of the conflict over a million people were displaced. While most have now returned home, the disruptions caused by violence triggered an acute malnutrition crisis. MSF teams responded in different parts of Kasai. As the region is slowly returning to normal, the peak of the crisis has past and MSF closed its malnutrition intervention in August 2018.

In collaboration with the UNFRAMED photo festival in Brussels by Brassage Photographique and NOOR, MSF has sent Leonard Pongo (NOOR) and Quentin Bruno (Brassage) to document the MSF activities in Kasai as well as the social reality of the region trough a cross look between both photographers.
