Splintered by years of conflict, words do little to capture the situation in South Sudan. More than 4 million people - a third of country's population - have been uprooted by war. For many, access to even basic health care, food, and water is a struggle. But despite the many obstacles, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams are constantly adapting to respond to needs—from supporting local hospitals, to setting up mobile clinics, and training local health workers. Outgoing Head of Mission, Will Harper, discusses how MSF is making immediate and long-term impacts, and how he finds reasons for hope in the training and growth of our South Sudanese colleagues.
