Hepatitis C is a worldwide problem and it’s important to address this disease in all countries around the world, only with all the join efforts of different organizations and the different authorities on the countries it will be possible to improve the access for test and treatment and decrease he unnecessary suffering of the populations.

In Arshakunyats polyclinic, since July 2023, MSF supports the implementation of a Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) project by providing technical expertise, test and treatments for patients. Patients will not incur any costs for the services provided. The project has been discussed in details and in agreement with the relevant authorities and national experts on the matter.
On April 5 the inauguration ceremony of a new service for testing and treatment of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection for key population took place at MSF’s project site Arshakunyats Health Center in the capital Yerevan. The event was attended by various stakeholders including MSF’s main partner Yerevan Municipality, the Ministry of Health, the National Center of Infectious Diseases, as well as partners from the civil society and medical community.
The service follows an approach called “one stop shop” – patients can get tested, diagnosed and receive treatment all in one place, free of charge.
The new service aims to improve access to Hepatitis C care for key populations in Armenia (“PWID” People who Inject Drugs, ”MSM” Men who have Sex with Men, “CSW” Commercial Sex Workers), as the existing health services are not always tailored to meet the needs of this group.
