Mental health activities in Yei, Central Equatoria

In Yei, Central Equatoria, mental health needs are immense. As the area has been experiencing armed conflicts, local communities have been facing displacement and abuse (harassment, abductions, sexual violence...) for decades and all genders and age groups are coping with traumas and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) without even knowing it, directly impacting their physical health. Since 2017, in addition to our physical healthcare services, MSF has been implementing Mental Health activities in its clinic in Yei Town and seven outreach locations in the area, where a team of four counsellors are supporting and treating patients.
