In the Rohingyas refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, extreme cuts to food rations loom, following an announcement by the World Food Program (WFP) that funding shortfalls mean food rations for Rohingya in the camps in Cox’s Bazar will soon be halved unless a reported gap of 81 million (US) dollars is met. This means the monthly food ration would drastically drop from (US) $12 a month per person to $6 from April. An estimated more than 1 million Rohingya are confined in the camps in Cox’s Bazar district, where they arrived after fleeing violence in nearby Myanmar.
