Since the start of the war in Gaza more than a year ago, violence against Palestinians in the West Bank has surged, with the population facing intensified attacks, harassment, and severe restrictions imposed by Israeli forces and settlers. According to OCHA, 732 Palestinians have lost their lives, and around 6,000 have been injured, with Tulkarm and Jenin emerging as epicenters of conflict. The October 3 airstrike from F16 heavy weapon on Tulkarm refugee camp, which killed 18 people, marked the deadliest single-day attacks in the past two decades, leaving the community devastated and struggling to recover.

In Tulkarm and Jenin, (MSF) teams are on the ground, witnessing the escalating violence firsthand. Our teams witness the continuous attacks on healthcare facilities and roadblocks that hinder ambulances from reaching those in need. The constant incursions and unrelenting trauma are taking a severe psychological toll on Palestinians, who live in fear of the next attack. MSF’s work is essential to address this crisis, providing medical care, mental health support, and crisis intervention to help mitigate the impact of the violence and offer hope to communities in distress.

As part of MSF activities, “Stop the Bleed” trainings are key in providing life-saving emergency response skills to the population in the camps during the incursions and blockades of access to ambulances and health facilities.
