A family from Irpin had to flee their home, when their town was attacked. They now live in a care home (normally a safe house for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence) in south of Kyiv.

Nadiia, her two daughters and her grandchild live here with Nadiia’s sister, Olha (short hair).

Nadiia and her husband lived in a large house, and several days before they left, they had to stay in a bomb shelter. They managed to get out of town with help from volunteers.

When troops withdrew from the town, their house was destroyed.

Nadiia’s husband worked in a similar shelter in Irpin, and that is how they get contact to this place in Uzyn. He came with the family in the beginning, but went back to Irpin after troops had withdrawn. The rest of the family remained in Uzyn.
