Yemen’s Marib governorate has received thousands of families displaced by the country’s ongoing conflict.

Most of these internally displaced people (IDPs) live in informal camps with little access to basic necessities.

MSF provides basic health services through 8 mobile clinic sites in Marib for IDPs, marginalized populations, migrants and host communities.

We are scaling up our activities as the number of internally displaced people has increased.

"Our mobile clinics provide various health care services. We provide primary health care for acute emergency cases such as acute diarrhea, for patients with fever, and for other diseases that spread in IDP camps.

We also provide reproductive health care services, prenatal care, immunization services, and referral of emergency cases to hospitals as needed."

TEXT:
The number of diarrhea cases in the MSF mobile clinics is alarming. This is a consequence of the lack of access to clean water and sanitation.
MSF is concerned that outbreaks of diseases such as measles, COVID-19, and cholera could seriously endanger the people in these camps.

"We need medication, warmth, food items and anything any person needs. We’re IDPs and we have nothing.
Many people here have already died, three or four people died in the last couple of days."

"Since we conduct field visits and interact with the IDPs, we noticed that they need multiple things. And we hope that other international NGOs will intervene in this regard. IDPs need water supply, hygiene kits, food, tents, and protection."

This is not only happening in Marib.

Displacement and the lack of water, sanitation, shelter, and health care services affect people throughout Yemen due to the continuing conflict.
