Darwish, 74, is from Syria.
He has been living in Vathy camp, Samos, for 11 months.
Like him, in Vathy camp,
4,500 people are contained in inhumane conditions, lacking clean
water and sanitation.

After a fire destroyed Moria and left 12,000 people sleeping on the streets,
the EU commission have claimed that there would never be another such camp.

But in reality, Vathy, as many other camps across the Greek islands,
resemble Moria.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 in the camp and over 60 positive cases,
many people who are at high risk to the virus remain trapped in dangerous conditions.
