In the aftermath of the "March of Return" demonstrations

Following the so-called “March of Return” that started in Gaza on 30th of March, a massive influx of patients injured by gunshots was received in MSF post-operative care clinics of Gaza (a bit less than 1,400).
Since the end of the “March of Return” on 8th of June, demonstrations continue on Fridays at the separation fence between Gaza and Israel but at a much smaller scale. Injured, including by gunshots, are however still reported every Friday since.

In MSF clinics, the influx of patients started to regulate.
The main concern of MSF teams in Gaza now is around the remaining high risks of complications and long-term consequences for these people, of which around 40% will need to be followed by our teams for nursing care, physiotherapy and/or additional surgeries until the end of the year.
