Since the end of January 2025 the map of migration across the Latin American corridor towards the United States has changed dramatically following a series of restrictive orders sanctioned by the Trump Administration including the termination of the main avenues to seek asylum, declaring the emergency on the border with Mexico and increasing deterrence measures. Migration flows both in Mexico and across Central America have reduced, while some returns of migrants and deportations are taking place. MSF teams across Colombia, Panama, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico are adapting to the changing context.
