Foreigner Registration Centre (FRC) | Kybartai

As of August 2022, out of 184 men who were being held in Kybartai FRC 97 were detained with no freedom of movement or ability to leave the centre. According to national legislation, such detention is restricted to one year and can be extended to 18 months on a case-by-case basis. Kybartai, a prison that was under the Ministry of Justice, became a State Border Guards (SBG) Foreigner Registration Centre for single men in September 2021, without any major renovations to the facility.
