Outreach Team

The Outreach team in a mobile team in Brussels that provides medical support for COVID-19 (prevention and control of infection, health promotion, social orientations, patients follow-up, testing, NFI distributions) to accommodation sites for homeless people in Brussels. This team works in partnership with Médecins du Monde and the New Samu Social.

Hotel Galia

The Medical center at the Hotel Galia (in the center of Brussels - Marolles) was created to provide shelter and medical care to people who are homeless, on the street or in dedicated structures, and who are infected with SARS-CoV-19. It is indeed essential that each individual has the possibility to be isolated and sheltered and to receive the necessary medical care. First patients have arrived Tuesday 10 November.

Within this structure, there are separate areas in the center for suspected and confirmed cases. The residents of the center will receive a bed, three meals a day, as well as medical care. In addition, they will receive psychosocial support, health promotion, showers and washing machines.

For people who require hospitalization, MSF refers these patients to the nearest hospitals.

Currently, there are 26 staff members of MSF working in the project. Among them: doctor (available 7/7), nurses (24/7), logistician, water & sanitation expert, health promoter, psychologist, cultural mediators (24/7), and hygienists
