This team assisted
23 health posts and
visited remote communities

We first trained technically
the professionals that are there.

It´s a tough life for them,

so we provided them
with knowledge and information

about the virus and how to deal with it.

We gave donations in medicine,

hygiene kits and personal
protective equipment.


We tried to be there when
they received their patients.

These regions lack water.

These regions have always had
different hygiene habits

and they live collectively.

So the risks and the challenges
are quite pronounced.

We tried to explain to them
that in these particular case,

they should be making changes.

We spoke not only to the professionals,


but to the leader
of the communities.

The pandemic has
a profound impact
on people’s mental health

MSF believing in integrated care,

has reached these areas
with a psychologist.

The team had in their daily planning
sessions on mental health.

We tried to train the community members,

explain to them in simple terms:

and provide to a mother or an auntie
who has lost their loved one

advice, listen to them
and connect to them?

This is what mental health is all about.
