South-Sudan: thousands at risk of cholera and malnutrition in Pieri

Since the middle of February, thousands of people have fled into the bush in the area of Pieri after they had been forced to leave Yuai and Waat, in Uror County, following clashes between the SPLA and opposition groups. As people are struggling to have access to food, water and shelter, and with very limited access to humanitarian assistance, thousands of people are now at risk of cholera and malnutrition. MSF has launched an intervention to provide primary healthcare to the more than 27,000 people stranded in the villages around and in Pieri and is now responding to the cholera outbreak. Without a regular provision of humanitarian assistance, MSF is worried the situation could only become worse.
