In November, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams deployed in Mexico City, State of Mexico, Puebla, Oaxaca and Morelos completed the medical, mental health and health promotion activities that were launched in different communities of these states after the emergency caused by the two strong earthquakes in September. In the days following the seismic movement on September 19, the emergency response teams of MSF identified as the main medical conditions among the population of Puebla both respiratory problems and aggravations of chronic diseases, such as hypertension or diabetes, and psychosomatic symptoms. In the State of Oaxaca, strongly affected by the two major earthquakes in September, the organization's teams provided medical care, mental health care and carried out activities to promote health while training key actors in the community. MSF carried out psychological first aid training for strategic health personnel, volunteers, community leaders, and community teachers, mainly in the Juchitán region. At the end of October, the humanitarian medical activities were completed in response to the needs for emotional stabilization and mental health in San Miguel Tecomatlán, in the State of Mexico, and Xochimilco, in Mexico City. In Jojutla, state of Morelos, MSF focused on providing psychological first aid training to health jurisdiction personnel, mental health promoters, teachers and community leaders, as well as providing training for personnel who compose the new team of the medical emergency unit.
