In Sanga, an hours drive from Kathmandu, the Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF) team has set up three tents in the compound of Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) to support earthquake victims who had undergone spinal or limb surgeries and need support for general rehabilitation. Since July, the project has admitted 40 patients who usually stay for three to four months.

MSF provides basic nursing care and physiotherapy sessions in the centre, as well as 20 to 30 individual and group psychosocial sessions every week. The team is also training staff from SIRC on how to handle general rehabilitation cases.
With the construction of a second floor on SIRC and donations of equipment, MSF is ready to hand over its patients to the centre by early December.
