Bombing of Hama Central Sham hospital in southern Idlib governorate

Hama Central/Sham hospital in southern Idlib governorate, Syria, was a major referral facility for the region. On the morning of 26 September 2017 an airstrike hit the hospital, one of the missiles penetrating through from the top floor right down to the basement where the hospital rooms were located in an effort to be somewhat protected from bombing. The structural damage was significant enough to force the hospital to close. There were fortunately no casualties. The result of this hospital closure, following three other hospitals in Idlib region being hit by bombs earlier on 19 September, is that there is currently a massive gap in healthcare just at a time of intense aerial bombing when people need healthcare the most.
