We have been experiencing the war since 15 of April 2023 till now. But things highly changed after the 10th of May.

[There is] shelling everywhere in the city and every day there are battles around the city from all sides.

It doesn’t start at a specific time or in a specific place.

At least 278 people have been killed and more than 1,780 wounded since May 10 in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, Sudan.

More than 1.5 million people are caught in the fighting between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in El Fasher and its surroundings.

And We, as the health personnel, we’re trying to respond to the situation.

A whole family can be just destroyed by one bullet or one shell landing on their house.
Since 10 of May, the main hospital that was working for the whole city and for all states was South hospital.

[It was] the area that was safe and [that] all the people fled to, [but then] it even started to become near to the battle.
And then gradually, we found ourselves inside the battles. So we moved this hospital.

Now all the health services are based in one single hospital in the city: the maternal hospital, Saudi hospital.

But the most challenging thing is there's no supplies. Beds are not enough.

The city is surrounded, and since the 10th of May, no cars or trucks are entering. No supplies are coming from anywhere.

Even for us as MSF, we failed to bring our supplies from Tine. So in each city, Tine, Adre, N’Djamena we have [had] trucks just sitting there for months and we are just trying to cope.

Since we had to move things from South hospital until now, we have just been trying to find essential things like fuel. Like drugs, essential drugs, like beds.

Some days, we receive more than 100 cases of wounded that need different types of surgical services and there is no access to bring in the [necessary] medical supplies.
