I have been a in this village for 8 years.
After all these years, I have been a farmer.

If today I say that we have suffered, it is not me alone. It is the whole community. The fact that we plant and the floods destroy the crops, or that our cattle have been killed by the same floods, it’s the whole community facing these problems.

Ulang, located
in the Upper Nile State,
is regularly flooded

Illnesses spread
by mosquitoes
or in water
are impacted
by the changing climate

All these illnesses come due to the floods. They were not here before. The water that we drink is contaminated.

Because of floods,
the communities
are cut off
from health structures

Whenever it rains, we suffer a lot because there are no mosquito nets. If something can be done, we request for mosquito nets to protect ourselves from the bites.

The climate emergency
is already affecting
people’s health
and lives
