In Tashkent and Tashkent region MSF in collaboration with the Republican AIDS Centre runs a mobile laboratory. Operating from a specially equipped bus, it provides express testing for HIV, hepatitis C and syphilis, as well as information on the treatment opportunities, and referrals to specialised medical facilities for people who have difficulty accessing diagnostics, medical and preventive care.

Additional Information / Shotlist Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been working in Uzbekistan since 1998 in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health to improve the diagnosis and treatment of people with tuberculosis (TB), including drug-resistant forms of the disease. In Tashkent, MSF started working in cooperation with the Republican AIDS Centre and the Tashkent City AIDS Centre in 2013 to promote comprehensive care for people living with HIV co-infected with TB, sexually transmitted infections and hepatitis C.

In 2021, in collaboration with the Republican AIDS Centre MSF launched a mobile laboratory. Operating from a specially equipped bus, it provides express testing for HIV, hepatitis C and syphilis for people who have difficulty accessing diagnostics, medical and preventive care. The mobile laboratory team aims not only to provide express testing, but at the same time to raise awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups including testing for viral diseases.
