We’ve seen a need for physiotherapy and rehabilitation for war-wounded people, many of whom have lost limbs, or had their mobility impaired through life-altering injuries – to this end, we have been working with the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Health in Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Uzhhorod, to provide specialised physiotherapy services. This is an area of medicine that isn’t very well-developed in the Ukrainian health system and the brutality of the war is resulting in people with severe injuries that will produce lifelong consequences (and an additional burden for the health care system) if no timely, good quality rehabilitation is provided.
