01:17-01:23 ZEESHAN UL HAQ BHATTI - We conduct pre- assessment sessions with patients to educate them about their condition and establish a stronger rapport.

01:24-01:39 ZEESHAN UL HAQ BHATTI - These sessions also include a needs assessment to identify their specific needs. Later we conduct post-initiation sessions with the patients to monitor their progress, assess any side effects and evaluate their adherence to their treatment plan.

02:10-02:30 ANDEH SHANTA IBRAHIM - The Muti Drug Resistant TB is the type of TB where the patient is being infected with a strain of bacteria that is resistant to two key drugs which are Rifampicin and Isoniazad. And now with the GeneXpert diagnostic tools, these patients are easily identified and started on treatment.

02:31-02:46 ANDEH SHANTA IBRAHIM - This treatment is a bit difficult because the patient will have to consume nothing less than 10 medications for a period of 9 to 25 months which is a bit difficult for any normal human being to be taking in their lives

02:49-03:01 HAFSA FATIMA - Our goal is to treat people, they may have other illnesses as well such as hypertension or diabetes. Therefore, we modify our management-based plan based on these issues.

03:02-03:15 HAFSA FATIMA - It’s not mandatory that a patient has to follow the guidelines of visiting our centre weekly in the first two months of treatment. We can adjust the plan based on the patient’s condition to lessen their burden.

03:17-03:32 HAFSA FATIMA - We have registered 161 confirmed DR-TB patients, among those patients we have successfully treated 8 patients till date who have completed. Who are bacteriologically fine, clinically fine and ideologically fine and they are being followed up also.

03:37-03:44 HAFSA FATIMA - MSF provides free treatment to patients. They don’t have to pay a single rupee once they enter our facility.

We also conduct assessments at the patient’s home to determine their living conditions, whether the patient has a separate room and whether their family is aware of the risks of TB and how to prevent it.

04: 14 - 04: 27 ANDEH SHANTA IBRAHIM - So the good news is that now we have a shorter regiment intreating Multi Drug Resistant TB which consists of only 45 drugs for a duration of just six months, so this is more cost effective.

04:29-04:42 FORMER DR-TB PATIENT - They share on our pain and tell us to forget that we are sick and miraculously half of the illness gets better on its own while the other half is cured with medicine

04:45-04:54 FORMER DR-TB PATIENT - They are very supportive and friendly with me. I follow the routine that the doctor prescribed to me.

04:54-05:04 DR-TB Graduate - I took my medicine at the prescribed time. I didn’t stop. Initially, I felt like stopping the medication, but with their support, I didn’t .

05:06-05:20 FORMER DR-TB PATIENT - They told me to stop worrying about my condition whether I would live or die and motivated me to focus on the fact that I have to keep on living for the sake of my parents and children. Their encouragement gave me a lot of confidence. Therefore, by the grace of the almighty, I am better now.

05:21-05:34 Dr Sohail Anjum Bhatt - They are working efficiently to combat life threatening diseases like TB and particularly focused on addressing this issue in third world countries. They are very serious and doing the state of the art work. I greatly appreciate and acknowledge their efforts to save humanity.
