Hala Ismael Al-Talla, a patient at the MSF-supported Rafah Indonesian field hospital, was forced to leave her home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza’s Middle Area after the house she lived in with her family was shelled on the sixth day of the war. Hala’s leg was broken when a shell came through the bedroom window of the relative’s house she fled to in Nuseirat with her seven family members. She managed to get treatment at Al-Aqsa hospital before it came under threat but then had to flee to Rafah and could not continue her care. She tells us about her journey.
