With all my years of experience living and working through wars in Gaza, I have never seen anything like what I witnessed inside Nasser Hospital today.

As you can see behind me, the hospital is overwhelmed, beyond capacity.

It can't keep up with the instant influx of wounded civilians amid ongoing attacks on aid sites.

The patients are being treated outside, in the corridors behind me, and even between the beds.

Here in the emergency department, we receive dozens of injuries daily, coming from aid distribution centres and from bombings near the clinic.

Across Gaza, hospitals are reporting 300% or higher occupancy rates.

Those cases arrived with multiple injuries, gunshots, shrapnels.

We don't have enough gauzes.

We don't have enough medications.

No clean water, not even electricity most of the time and also not enough medical equipment. This is the dire situation that we're facing.

Patients are dying while waiting, dying from infection, dying from complications that are entirely treatable if this were anywhere else.
