Additional Information / Shotlist During two years of conflict between the Sudanese armed forces and the Rapid support forces, civilians, healthcare workers and facilities have been relentlessly attacked.
Tawila hospital was looted and partially burned in June 2023 following an RSF and allied militias attack.

Buildings were destroyed. Even beds were looted. And medicines were burned to the ground. From afar, it looked like a hospital, but when you entered it, it was a shelter for snakes and some grass in the autumn period. The hospital before MSF's intervention in October 2024 was one thing and now it is another.
Local volunteers continued to provide care as best they could despite the destruction and shortages.
We used to receive about 30 to 40 people a day because of the lack of medicines.
We were using tarpaulins on the floor for women to give birth.
A number of women died due to dystocia and bleeding.
This was why women did not come to the hospital.
MSF started to provide emergency and nutritional care and support to the hospital in Tawila in October 2024.

Our task here is to triage [patients], and do the routine procedures, take the weight and vital signs of the patients and check for malaria for anyone who comes, as routine check because at this time there is lots of malaria.
In the past, only critical cases came, but now any patient can come because the treatment is free.
The number of patients who come to us daily is between 350 and 400 patients.
Our teams found in December 2024 that 35,5% of the screened children were suffering of acute malnutrition.
In response to the dire situation, MSF distributes food and ensures access to free healthcare.

Massive humanitarian aid is urgently needed amid widespread starvation and devastation. Sudan can't wait any longer.
