Since the fall of the Assad government and the recent deadly attacks in Syria’s coastal regions, thousands have fled to Lebanon in search of safety. Many, like Abou Ali** and his family, are now sheltering in overcrowded mosques, repurposed schools, and makeshift tents in Akkar and Baalbek-Hermel, facing harsh living conditions. With limited access to clean water, food, and healthcare, the risk of disease is high. Abou Ali speaks to us about the challenges of life in the shelters.
