Additional Information / Shotlist The department of Cortés is one of the areas with the highest rates of sexual violence in Honduras. This situation especially affects women, adolescents and girls, and seriously impacts their physical and mental health.

Although there has been a National Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Policy in the country since 2016, it has not been properly implemented.

since January 2022 and after five years at the Choloma Maternal and Child Clinic, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reoriented part of its activities in northern Honduras to provide access to sexual and reproductive health services from a community approach, with emphasis on the most vulnerable population of Choloma: women of reproductive age, children and adolescents who live in the most impoverished villages of the city.
