The UN cross-border resolution for the provision of humanitarian aid into northwest Syria expires on 10 July 2022. If the resolution is not renewed, the last access route into northwest Syria is at risk of being closed. This would also have immediate negative implications for MSF operations. Most hospitals and health facilities would lack the necessary medical supplies to operate, and patients’ lives would be put at risk. MSF calls on the UNSC to renew the current cross-border resolution and keep Bab Al-Hawa crossing point open.
