When Ayesha, 2 years, fell sick her worried parents brought her to MSF’s health facility in Chaman. Her parents didn’t know she had measles and due to her illness she had lost a lot of weight. She was also referred to the MSF's nutritional unit at district headquarters hospital, Chaman.

Additional Information / Shotlist MSF’s healthcare facility at the district headquarters hospital, Chaman, Balochistan.
In Chaman district headquarters hospital, 130km north of Quetta on the border with Afghanistan, MSF supports medical services for women and children, including reproductive, neonatal and paediatric healthcare. In collaboration with the Department of Health, MSF medical staff offer free, quality medical care to local residents, Afghan refugees and patients who cross the border to seek medical help.
Since 2007, MSF has been supporting a 24-hour delivery room including surgical management of complicated deliveries, a paediatric inpatient ward, a newborn unit, and an emergency room for trauma cases. Malnourished children under the age of five are also enrolled in a feeding programme (inpatient and outpatient therapeutic feeding). Through health education sessions, MSF teams share knowledge on preventing medical conditions and seeking timely healthcare when needed, especially during pregnancy.
Between January and May MSF also ran a 30-bed isolation ward for the treatment of the measles patients.
