After the rescue from yesterday by MSF team.
Italy has assigned us Ancona as a place of safety.
Ancona is three days and half of navigation
from where we are now,
and we know that there are ports where we can disembark,
that are closer to our current position.

Italy has also refused to coordinate the transshipment
of the people we have on board
to another NGO ship, the Oceanic Viking,
that is also on its way to Ancona.
This means that the people will not receive the medical, psychological and physical assistance
that they need as soon as possible.
And it also means that two rescue ships
will be out of the Central Mediterranean Sea
when they need to be operative.
We urge the Italian authorities to reconsider,
to give us a closer place of safety
in compliance with international maritime migration,
but also human rights law.
