We have launched an emergency intervention in southern Madagascar in response to the current food insecurity crisis, caused by successive droughts and lack of incomes linked to Covid-19 restrictions (among other factors). For now, MSF teams are running mobile clinics to assess the logistical and medical situation and treat people for malnutrition.
Caroline Seguin was the medical coordinator in the project and participated in several explo-action in the Amboasary district during her mission. In a 3 minutes video “Back From The Field” she shares her insights on the ongoing crisis: the destitution of the populations, the high level of malnutrition (severe and moderate), the lack of functional health centers.
