And ten years later, the conflict is still raging?
MSF has worked in Syria for the past 10 years.

Today, Syrians are struggling to survive.

2011 – 2013 – Large protests turn into violence, and then war. MSF provides support to Syrian doctors and runs underground hospitals to treat the wounded.

2014-2015 –Millions flee their homes, leading to the biggest displacement crisis since World War II. MSF starts providing medical care for Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries.

2016-2018 – Bombing, shelling and missile strikes destroy entire cities. Military offensives force MSF to withdraw medical teams from most of the country.

2019-2021 – Syrians across the country struggle to survive. Millions live in camps for displaced persons.

A decade of war has caused a health catastrophe leaving physical and mental wounds that will take years to heal…
